Turf Toe is a sprain of the ligaments surrounding the big toe joint.
Turf Toe may be treated conservatively with rest, ice, compression and elevation, or “RICE”, to promote recovery. Often times, a doctor will suggest the patient use a CAM walker to promote stability in the ankle and foot and to restrict motion and weight bearing activities. In severe cases, surgical intervention maybe required. In such instances, the surgeon would repair the injured tissue.
